The Guanajuato Setting

This is a North American conference in Mexico, with a focus on concerns common to our industry cluster in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

Guanajuato is a beautiful hillside city of 150,000 in the Mexican Highlands north of Mexico City. It’s a half-hour drive from Leon International Airport (direct flights from Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Oakland), and an hour away from San Miguel d’Allende.

This hidden gem of a city, with almost 500 years of history, will remind you of Italian hill towns. Visitors are generally amazed to discover that a city like this even exists in North America. Guanajuato is home to a large university and to Cervantino, the largest international arts and culture festival in the Americas.

We anticipate that Guanajuato will capture your heart and imagination, and we encourage you to bring your spouse/partner and to spend a few extra days before or after the conference exploring this remarkable city.

Our conference setting will be two adjacent hotels dramatically overlooking the city: Camino Real and Castillo de Santa Cecilia.

Getting to Guanajuato

Guanajuato is a short drive from the international airport at Leon, which is served by major airlines with direct flights from a number of North American cities, or via a short hop from Mexico City.
