Bob Hawkesworth
Alderman,

Bob
Hawkesworth was re-elected for a sixth time to represent Ward
4 in October 2007. Bob's first experience on Calgary City
Council, however, began in 1980 as Alderman for Ward 3 and
continued until 1986 when he was chosen by his constituents
to represent them in the Provincial Legislature as MLA for
Calgary Mountainview.
In continuing his commitment to Ward 4, Bob presently sits
on the following civic boards and committees:
• Standing Policy Committee on Community and Protective
Services, Chair
• Standing Policy Committee on Utilities & Environment
• Disaster Services Committee, Chair
• Enmax Corporation, Board Director
He co-chairs the Canadian Municipal Housing Advocacy Network
- Federation of Canadian Municipalities and his leadership
on environmental sustainability was acknowledged by his Provincial
appointment as a Founding Director of Climate Change Central.
Bob’s accomplishments over the years have been recognized
with a number of awards. In 1999 he received the AUMA Award
of Excellence for outstanding service to municipal government
in Alberta. He was a recipient of the 2000 Calgary United
Way “Spirits of Gold Award” for co-chairing the
Calgary Homeless Initiative. In 2005, Alberta Venture Magazine
named Bob one of Alberta's 50 Most Influential People.

The
Hon. Ed Stelmach Premier
of Alberta
Ed
Stelmach was was sworn in as Alberta's 13th Premier on December
14, 2006 and was re-elected on March 3rd, 2008. Mr. Stelmach
has been a member of the Alberta Legislative Assembly since
1993. He was elected to his fifth term as an MLA on March
3rd, 2008, serving the people of the Fort Saskatchewan-Vegreville
Constituency. Mr. Stelmach and his wife Marie manage a successful
mixed farm business.
Premier Stelmach has a long record of public and community
service. He has been a school trustee, chair of the Vegreville
health unit board and member of the Archer Memorial Hospital
and Lamont Auxiliary Hospital and Nursing Home boards. He
has also been involved with the Andrew Co-op Association,
Lamont District 4-H Council and Andrew 4-H Beef Club.
He has held four cabinet posts, including Minister of Agriculture,
Minister of Infrastructure, Minister of Transportation, and
lastly Minister of International and Intergovernmental Relations.
He stepped down from his ministerial duties in March 2006
to run for leadership of the PC Party.

Preston Manning President
and CEO, Manning Centre for Building Democracy
Preston Manning served as a Member of the Canadian Parliament
from 1993 to 2001. He founded two new political parties –
the Reform Party of Canada and the Canadian Reform Conservative
Alliance – both of which became the official Opposition
in the Canadian Parliament. Mr. Manning served as Leader of
the Opposition from 1997 to 2000 and was also his party’s
critic for Science and Technology. In 2007 he was made a Companion
of the Order of Canada.
Since retirement from Parliament in 2002, Mr. Manning has
released a book entitled Think Big (published by
McClelland & Stewart) describing his use of the tools
and institutions of democracy to change Canada’s national
agenda. He has also served as a Senior Fellow of the Canada
West Foundation and as a Distinguished Visitor at the University
of Calgary and University of Toronto.
Mr. Manning is currently a Senior Fellow of the Fraser Institute
and President and CEO of the Manning Centre for Building Democracy.
The Manning Centre (www.manningcentre.ca) is a national not-for-profit
organization supporting research, educational, and communications
initiatives designed to achieve a more democratic society
in Canada guided by conservative principles.
Mr. Manning continues to write, speak, and teach on a variety
of subjects including the revitalization of democracy in the
Western world, the revitalization of Canadian conservatism,
Canada-U.S. relations, strengthening relations between the
scientific and political communities, the re-balancing of
Canadian federalism, the regulation of the genetic revolution,
and the management of the interface between faith and politics.

Gary Holden President
and Chief Executive Officer, ENMAX Corporation
Gary
Holden became President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
of ENMAX Corporation (ENMAX) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
of each of ENMAX’s subsidiary corporations in May 2005.
He serves as a director on each of the ENMAX Boards, the Canadian
Electricity Association, the Alberta Children’s Hospital
Foundation and NaiKun Wind Energy Group Inc.
Prior
to joining ENMAX, Gary held several key positions with other
organizations. Most recently he was President and Chief Operating
Officer, AltaGas Income Trust. Prior to his role at AltaGas
he was Chairman and CEO of EnSource Energy Services. Gary
started his career in Calgary where he held a variety of positions
with TransAlta Corporation. He was Executive Vice-President,
Generation, and CEO of TransAlta New Zealand Limited, where
he was responsible for the Australia and New Zealand business
activities for TransAlta.
In 1997, Gary was selected as one of Canada’s Top 40
under 40. He was also runner-up as CEO of the Year in 1998
in New Zealand.

Adam Legge Vice
President and Chief Economist, Research, Workforce and Strategy,
Calgary Economic Development
Adam
Legge joined Calgary Economic Development in 2004. Adam oversees
the data, information, research, policy and workforce development
activities of Calgary Economic Development. His key role is
the assessment of economic conditions and their impact on
the community. Adam most recently served as Project Manager
for the City of Calgary Economic Development Strategy, which
was released in January 2008.
Prior to joining CED, Adam worked in the Real Estate Advisory
Services practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he provided
consulting services to clients in the areas of economic development,
real estate, land-use availability and growth. Adam is actively
involved in the community, serving as Chair of the United
Way’s Economic Well Being Committee and as a past President
of the Norfolk Housing Association Board of Directors. Adam
is a full member of Canadian Institute of Planners.

Linda Bruce
Chair, Calgary Regional Partnership, Mayor
of Airdrie
Linda
Bruce was elected to Airdrie City Council in 1995 and served
three terms as Alderman before being elected as Mayor in 2004.
She was acclaimed in 2007.
Linda
was elected by her regional piers as Chair of the Calgary
Regional Partnership in November 2004. She became involved
with the CRP at its inception, seeing the value of a united
region working together effectively and efficiently. She also
Chairs the Regional Land Use Planning Committee, the Nose
Creek Watershed Partnership Committee, Co-Chairs the Calgary
Regional Waste Reduction Partnership Committee and is ex-officio
on all City of Airdrie committees.
Mayor
Bruce is very excited as the City of Airdrie continues working
on growth and sustainability as one of two municipalities
in Alberta to participate in The Natural Step sustainable
community program. This innovative program will assist the
City of Airdrie in developing Airdrie’s Municipal Sustainability
Plan, introducing new initiatives and innovative ways to reduce
Airdrie’s ecological footprint and continue our focus
of making Airdrie a ‘green’ community.

Dave Bronconnier Mayor
of Calgary
Following
a successful career in private industry and nine years as
Ward 6 Alderman on Calgary City Council, Dave Bronconnier
was elected Calgary's 35th mayor on October 15, 2001. He was
re-elected mayor of Calgary for a third term on October 15,
2007.
Mayor Bronconnier has led significant initiatives in municipal
infrastructure development, which include a well-received
plan for the construction of major traffic interchanges and
the extension of Calgary's light rail transit. This program
includes a unique funding program that leverages the City's
borrowing capacity without impacting property tax rates.
His commitment to addressing Calgary's infrastructure funding
challenges helped secure an extension to the fuel tax revenue
sharing agreement between the City and the province of Alberta.
His efforts have earned him recognition as a leading national
voice in favour of a more equitable share of federal fuel
tax revenues for Canada's cities, culminating in an agreement
that was signed in May 2005.
Mayor Bronconnier has also been instrumental in facilitating
partnerships with local homebuilders and other levels of government
in funding affordable housing initiatives in new Calgary communities
and continues to focus on programs that protect the abundant,
but precious, environmental resources Calgarians enjoy.

Harvey P. Weingarten President, University
of Calgary
Dr.
Harvey P. Weingarten became the University of Calgary's seventh
President and Vice-Chancellor on September 1, 2001. Since
that time he has introduced major initiatives to enhance the
student experience, to accelerate research momentum, and to
launch the University into a $1.5-billion capital expansion
program.
Under Dr. Weingarten the University of Calgary has emphasized
the quality of the student experience, putting millions of
dollars in new spending - including more than $5 million given
directly to students for priorities they have identified,
which is the only initiative of its kind in Canada.
A distinguished scholar and researcher in the fields of psychology
and medicine, Dr. Weingarten holds a BSc from McGill University,
and MSc, MPhil, and PhD from Yale University.
He currently serves on numerous boards and councils including:
• Alberta Ingenuity Fund
• Alberta Heritage Foundation for Medical Research
• Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada
(AUCC)
• Canadian Language and Literacy Research Network (CLLRNET)
• Concurrent Technologies Canada Incorporated, and

Dr. Weingarten recently had his term as President and Vice-Chancellor
of the University of Calgary extended to 2011.

Vivian Manasc Principal,
Manasc Isaac Architects
Vivian
Manasc
is known nationally for her leadership in Sustainable Design,
Integrated Design, facilitation, community engagement, integrating
environmental, technical, artistic and cultural aspects of
Architecture and architectural practice. Notable recent sustainable
building projects include the new 180,000 sf Water Centre
in Calgary, the Greenstone Government of Canada Building in
Yellowknife, NWT, (LEED Gold) as well as the new St. John
Ambulance Provincial Headquarters in Edmonton (LEED Silver),
Calgary’s new Emergency Operations Centre and the new
Academic Research Centre at Athabasca University.
Vivian
has also received numerous awards for her Architectural work,
including a Governor General’s Award, a Prairie Design
Award, and a number of design excellence awards from the Alberta
Association of Architects. Four of Manasc Isaac’s projects
are among the Alberta Association of Architects registry of
Alberta’s 100 most significant buildings. Vivian also
co-authored a book, Agora Borealis, engaging in sustainable
architecture”, in 2003, and her work as well as her
articles have appeared in many professional and general publications
across Canada.
Vivian
is Past President of the Royal Architectural Institute of
Canada (RAIC), a Director of the Canada Green Building Council,
Chair of the Continuing Education Committee, and is a popular
speaker at conferences and business panels. She served as
member of the Board of the Edmonton Economic Development Corporation,
from 1998 to 2004, and was Vice Chair of the Board in 2004.
Vivian
Manasc is a graduate of Montreal's McGill University. She
also earned a Master of Business Administration degree from
the University of Alberta.

Ted Morton
Minister of Sustainable Resource Development
In 2006 Ted Morton was sworn in as Minister of Sustainable
Resource Development and appointed a member of the Agenda
and Priorities Committee and the Cabinet Policy Committee
on Resources and the Environment.
Dr. Morton obtained his bachelor of arts in political science
from Colorado College in 1971, his master of arts in political
science from the University of Toronto in 1975 and his PhD
in political science from the University of Toronto in 1981.
From 1981 to 2004 he was a professor with the University of
Calgary and a visiting professor with a number of institutions:
• Visiting adjunct professor, Colorado College (1986,
1989, 1991 and 1994)

Mark Holland
Principal, Holland Barrs
Mark
Holland is a LEED™-accredited planner who holds professional
degrees in both Landscape Architecture and Community and Regional
Planning. He is a principal with the Holland Barrs Planning
Group Inc (HBPG), one of Canada’s leading sustainable
development planning firms, with recent projects in a very
wide range of areas including community and development planning,
strategic planning, sustainable development strategies, innovative
engineering systems, policy, design and consultation processes.
Mark
‘s consulting work focuses on integrating sustainability
principles into the mainstream development industry to assist
teams to find cost-effective ways of developing in a more
sustainable manner, including projects as small as infill
projects to large-scale master-planned communities, in both
the rural and urban context.
Mark
also works closely with the public sector, including serving
as both a city planner and the City of Vancouver’s first
Manager of its Sustainability Office. His current work with
local government focuses on city-wide sustainable development
strategies for small and large cities across North America,
including recently the City of Albuquerque, New Mexico and
many cities in British Columbia.
He
was selected as one of Vancouver’s top 40 under 40 in
2004 by Business in Vancouver Magazine. He is sought after
as a speaker and is widely known for his ability to “make
sense of sustainability” in a pragmatic way that leads
to action.

Chris Corps Prinicipal, Asset Strategics Ltd.
Chris
Corps, a former chairman of the Canadian Royal Institution
of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), has led industry efforts to
better understand and accurately incorporate into the balance
sheets of corporations and the value of Green Buildings. His
leadership in the publication of the 2005 RICS study “Green
Value,” broke new ground and moved the discussion of
Green Valuation forward.
Chris, a Principal in Asset Strategics, provides real estate
and business advisory services; concentrating on advice in
planning, development, financing and economics of real estate
and business projects, including healthcare, major corporate
and government projects. Primarily focused on business/program,
development and investment viability engineering, contracting
and procurement management.
Prior to founding Asset Strategies in 2004, Mr. Corps was
at the British Columbia Buildings Corporation, where he had
various responsibilities including Senior Advisor, Project
Office Director and led BC Buildings Corporations’ Public-Private
Partnership involvements.
Mr. Corps has over 25 years of real estate experience including
partnership in a real estate consulting practice providing
sophisticated real estate analysis and advice and the Canadian
office of an established internal company selling property
development software, used to analyze economic development
viability and valuation. He has worked as a senior appraiser,
head of Municipal Development Department, and as a surveyor
involved in acquisitions, dispositions, lease renewals, rent
reviews, mortgage inspections and other activities.

David L. Day
Director, Environmental & Safety Management,
City of Calgary
Dave brings over 30 years
experience in the parks and conservation field to his position
as Director of the City of Calgary’s Environmental Management
business unit. Born in England and raised in Montréal,
Dave is a practicing geographer by education and inclination
(B.A., 1969, Concordia; M.Sc., 1971, University of Calgary).
His professional career includes
20 years public service with Parks Canada, specializing first
in natural resource inventory and management, and subsequently
as Superintendent of Jasper National Park, Rideau Canal, and
Banff National Park. From 1992 until 2003, Dave was a Principal
in the firm IRIS Environmental Systems Inc., specializing
in environmental assessment and management for the tourism
industry in protected and environmentally sensitive areas.
He has also worked internationally for the Nature Conservancy,
World Bank and industry.
In June 2003, Dave returned
to public service, attracted by the challenge of applying
his experience to supporting Calgary’s municipal and
community leaders to achieve a high standard of environmental
quality and community sustainability for the present and future
generations.

Graeme Bethell
General Manager, Corix
Graeme
Bethell is an environmental specialist with over 30 years
of experience in pollution prevention, waste management, energy
and water conservation, and environmental sustainability.
He is responsible for implementation of sustainable infrastructure
at Corix Utilities and works with municipalities, land developers
and planners to build sustainable communities.
He
is currently working with two communities on Vancouver Island
to implement renewable energy and wastewater infrastructure
in a manner that integrates renewable energy district heating
systems with wastewater treatment and organic solid waste
management.
Graeme
holds a Masters Degree in Pollution Control Engineering from
Leeds University, England and is an Environmental Auditor
and Qualified Environmental Professional.

Patrick Lucey
Principal, Aqua-Tex Scientific Consulting Ltd.
Patrick Lucey's background
includes ten years in industry and sixteen years with the
Biology Department at the University of Victoria, followed
by thirteen years as a private consulting scientist. His academic
background is in Marine Biology, Natural Resource Management
Geography, Phycology (algae) and Aquatic Ecology. He has over
150 publications.
Patrick
is a founding member of the Canadian and BC Proper Functioning
Condition (PFC) stream/wetland assessment cadre and is trained
in the USGBC LEED certification process. He acts as a graduate
studies supervisor for students in urban stream ecology and
was instrumental in the establishment of an Industrial Chair
in Environmental Management of Drinking Water Watersheds,
at the University of Victoria, which began in 1999.
Patrick
and colleagues have worked for the past two decades with community
groups to develop affordable, effective, locally-based programs
to protect and restore aquatic habitat, especially in urban
areas. His most recent project has been the development of
a Smart Municipal Development Program to protect public drinking
water watersheds, urban freshwater habitat and to reduce the
effects of stormwater on receiving environments.

Rob
Abbott is one of Canada’s leading sustainability strategists.
For nearly twenty years he has helped businesses all over
the world discover wealth-creating opportunities through a
deeper integration of sustainability with organizational and
competitive strategy. He currently leads the Corporate Responsibility
and Sustainability practice for Deloitte & Touche LLP
in Calgary, Alberta. Rob’s clients include leading TSX,
NYSE, and Fortune/S&P 500 firms, as well as new venture
enterprises.
Rob
passionately believes that truly successful organizations
consider the needs of all their stakeholders, their community
and the environment in carrying out their activities. Accordingly,
he helps these organizations design and implement plans that

David Hughes Geological
Survey of Canada; Leader, National Coal Inventory
David
Hughes is a geologist with more than 35 years experience studying
the energy resources of Canada for the Geological Survey of
Canada and the private sector. He is the Leader of the National
Coal Inventory, which is a digital knowledge base on coal
used to determine the availability of resources for conventional
and non-conventional uses, including coalbed methane production
and the sequestration of CO2. He is also Team Leader for Unconventional
Gas for the Canadian Gas Potential Committee, an organization
which publishes Canada's most authoritative assessments of
national natural gas potential.
David's evolving analysis of global and North American energy
issues has been presented across Canada and the United States
to Federal agencies, including the U.S. Department of Energy,
U.S. Potential Gas Committee, U.S. National Petroleum Council,
Environment Canada, Natural Resources Canada and Industry
Canada; to many Provincial and Municipal government agencies;
to policy forums including the Industry Steering Committee
on Climate Change and the National Electricity Roundtable;
to end user associations including the Canadian Chemical Producers
Association, Canadian Plastics Association, Canadian Fertilizer
Association and the Association of Major Power Consumers of
Ontario; as well as professional forums including the Canadian
Society of Petroleum Geologists, Geological Association of
Canada, Coal Association of Canada, American Gas Association
and others.
Aspects of his analysis have also been taken up by the popular

Monica Pohlmann Monica

Monica
is a sustainability strategist and facilitator with a keen
interest in the role of dialogue in enhancing community and
organizational sustainability. She is a passionate advocate
of Calgary’s journey toward sustainability and has been
involved in numerous community and civic initiatives during
her 18 years as a Calgarian.
An
independent consultant, she founded Monica K Pohlmann &
Associates in early 2007. Prior to that she worked for The
City of Calgary for ten years, most recently as Leader, Collaboration
and Strategy with ImagineCalgary, a 100-year urban sustainability
vision and 30 year strategy for Calgary that engaged 18,000
people. As Senior Environmental Policy Advisor she played
roles in the integration of triple bottom line approaches
into City decision-making and the development of The City’s
unique environmental management system. Other roles included
Long Range Planner, and Executive Assistant in The City Manager’s
Office.
Previous roles include community development planner and consultant
in the not-for-profit sector, and teaching sustainable community
development courses at the University of Calgary. Also an
active volunteer, she serves on a number of boards and advisory
committees. Highlights include co-founding and managing Sustainable
Calgary, a ten-year old NGO with the mission of promoting
community-level initiatives that move Calgary toward a sustainable
future. She also helped to establish and co-chaired The Calgary
Foundation’s Neighbourhood Grants Program. She currently
serves on the board of The Natural Step Canada and is a member
of the Canadian Green Building Council and the International
Society of Sustainability Professionals.
An
adjunct professor in the University of Calgary’s Faculty
of Environmental Design, she holds a Dialogue, Deliberation
and Public Engagement certificate from Fielding Graduate University,
has a Bachelor of Science, a Master of Environmental Design
(Planning) and is a Member of the Canadian Institute of Planners.

Bruce
Sampson
Former VP Sustainability, BC Hydro
Bruce
Sampson joined BC Hydro in 1997 as Director, Strategic Issues
and Planning . Shortly after Bruce was appointed Executive
Vice President of Powerex the energy trading subsidiary of
BCHydro. During his tenure with Powerex Bruce was involved
with the team developing a Risk Management framework.
While
heading up the Strategic Planning team Bruce was heavily involved
with helping BC Hydro develop it’s position with respect
to the deregulation of the energy markets in North America.
He was eventually seconded to the provincial government team
to assist in the development of the Provincial Energy Plan
introduced in 2001.
Bruce
and his team were instrumental in helping BCH introduce the
first voluntary renewables portfolio standard for a utility
in Canada. BCH was also at the forefront of the adoption of
a triple bottom line framework and integration of sustainability
objectives throughout the company. Innovest ranked BCH as
the top of the list of 27 companies they reviewed in 2003
giving BCH a AAA rating for sustainability.
In
2004 Bruce and his team was assigned to work with Mossadiq
Umedaly the current Chair of BC Hydro and Chair of Xantrex
to assist in the development of a strategic framework for
the development of the Power Technology sector in BC ultimately
leading to the release of the Task Force report on Power Technology
adopted by the Province. His most recent assignment was a
secondment to the Provincial Government to assist in development
of the province’s new energy plan. Bruce has had extensive
involvement in developing BC Hydro’s long-term strategy
and goals, with specific emphasis on ensuring sustainability
is incorporated into the long-term goals, strategies and objectives.
Bruce also has a strong external focus and sits on a wide
range of boards and committees and completed over 40 talks
to various groups in 2006/07. He is currently an Executive
in Residence at the University of Victoria.

Mauro
Meneghetti has over 25 years of broad management consulting
experience and is the Managing Director of Western Management
Consultants. He recently chaired the Steering Team for the
Calgary Economic Development strategy, is a Director of Calgary
Economic Development and several private companies. He also
serves on the Board of SCAPE, an organization committed to
greening the Calgary Urban Landscape in the upcoming years.
Mauro
works closely with executives and their teams to help define
and implement change in their organizations. His approach
to consulting reflects strong implementation experience and
results orientation. He is committed to achieving tangible
outcomes by working with clients to develop creative solutions
and facilitating their implementation.

Larry
Beasley Principal,
Beasley and Associates
Larry
Beasley
is the former Director of Planning for the City of Vancouver.
He is now the “Distinguished Practice Professor of Planning”
at the University of British Columbia and the founding principal
of Beasley and Associates, an international planning consultancy.
Over thirty years of civic service, Larry achieved land use
and transportation plans along with careful development management
that have dramatically reshaped Vancouver’s inner city.
He also led the revitalization of neighbourhoods, a strong
heritage preservation program, the City’s urban design
studio and a successful civic fundraising initiative. For
the last thirteen years, he was a principal decision maker
for Vancouver’s development approvals. He now teaches
and advises the private sector and governments around the
world. This includes chairing the ‘National Advisory
Committee on Planning, Design and Realty’ of Ottawa’s
National Capital Commission and acting as “Special Advisor
on Urban Planning” to the Government of Abu Dhabi in
the United Arab Emirates.
Larry has studied architecture and has degrees in geography
and political science (B.A.) and planning (M.A.). He was recently
awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree (Hon. L.L.D.) from Simon
Fraser University, one of his alma maters. He is a Fellow
of the Canadian Institute of Planners, an Honorary Member
of the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects and has been
recognized as an “Advocate for Architecture” by
the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada. This year, he
received the Kevin Lynch Prize from the Massachusetts Institute
of Technology, the most prestigious award in American planning.
Mr. Beasley is a Member of the Order of Canada, our country’s
highest honour for lifetime achievement.

Patricia
Gordon Sustainable
City Program Manager, City of Calgary
Pat
Gordon is the Sustainable City Program Manager for The City
of Calgary. The Plan It Calgary project and the imagineCALGARY
transition project are the key elements of the Sustainable
City Program. Plan It Calgary will result in a new
integrated land use and transportation plan by the end of
2008.
Pat
previously managed the imagineCALGARY project, an
award winning multi-stakeholder initiative to develop a long
range urban sustainability plan for Calgary. Today, imagineCALGARY
remains the biggest civic visioning project in the world with
over 18,000 citizens engaged. She has over 20 years experience
in the not-for-profit and municipal, provincial and federal
government sectors in Canada and Great Britain.
Her
early focus was on the natural environment, working in resource
management and conservation for Parks Canada. That focus has
shifted toward the integrated field of community sustainability
– capturing the environmental, social and economic aspects
of the quality of life in our communities.

Noel
Keough
Assistant Professor of Sustainable
Design, Faculty of Environmental Design, University of Calgary;
Sustainable Calgary
Noel
Keough is Assistant Professor of Sustainable Design at the
University of Calgary, Faculty of Environmental Design, co-founder
and Senior
Researcher with Sustainable Calgary Society, board member
of Enervision
and Director of the consulting firm PLAN:NET Ltd. Noel has
worked as a professional engineer in the oil patch, environmental
consultant and community development specialist. He has almost
20 years experience working in community sustainability planning,
community energy engineering and adult and environmental education.
He has worked internationally with communities in Asia, Eastern
Europe, The Middle East, Central America, Africa, and across
Canada.
Noel
has also lead projects in rural energy planning, community
sustainability indicators processes and community education
curriculum design and implementation. Noel is currently engaged
in research with students in the Faculty of Environmental
Design focusing on long range planning for Calgary as a carbon
neutral, one-planet-living city.
